Easy to use, quick results

Used Runway for Image to Video. Uploaded my image, got the video fast. Quality was solid. No complaints.

Always reliable for Gen-2

I've been using Runway for a while now, mostly for Gen-2. This last time I generated some short clips, and it was just as consistent as my previous orders. The output quality is something I've come to count on. It's why I keep coming back, frankly. Never had an issue with the renders, always delivers what I expect.

Got some cool images

So I jumped on Runway to mess around with Text to Image and it was actually pretty fun. I just typed in a few things and it spit out some really neat pictures. Some of them were a bit weird, but hey, that's part of the fun right? The site was easy enough to navigate, didn't get lost trying to find what I needed. It was a pretty smooth experience from start to finish. Felt good just playing around with it for a bit.

Good for video projects

I recently bought an annual subscription for Runway to use Gen-1 for a personal project. The ordering process was straightforward on their website, no hidden steps. Delivery of the service itself is instant, obviously, since it's a platform. I tried out the Remove Background feature first, and it worked pretty well, saved me a lot of time. Had a quick question about credit usage, and their support got back to me within a few hours which was good. The quality of the generated video was decent, not always perfect but good enough for my needs. It's user-friendly overall, even for someone who isn't a pro editor.

hey, was thinking about trying out Runway for some video stuff. is the free version any good or is it super limited?

L Laura L. 1 month ago
it's free to use but you get like, a few basic tools and some credits. enough to mess around with Gen-2 a bit but not for real projects.

R Rosa A. 1 month ago
yeah, the free tier lets you kinda dip your toes in. for anything serious, you'll want a paid plan. credits disappear fast when you're actually making things.

i'm looking at the pricing, is it really worth it to go for the annual plan instead of monthly? seems like a big commitment.

D Dana Nguyen 1 month ago
oh for sure, you save a solid 20% right off the bat. if you know you'll use it for a while, it's a no-brainer.

G Greg Hughes 1 month ago
yeah, the monthly adds up way faster. if you're serious about using it for projects, annual is the way to go. think of it like a bulk discount.

wondering about referral codes. can i stack one if a friend gives me theirs AND use a promo code i found online?

G Greg Z. 1 month ago
afaik, referral credits go directly to your balance, not as a promo code at checkout. so you can usually use a promo code too, but check the terms. they don't usually let you stack two different 'coupon' type discounts.

E Elena N. 1 month ago
i don't think you can apply multiple codes in the checkout itself. but referral credits are kinda different, they just add funds. so maybe. i'd try it out and see.

is there like, an unlimited generation plan on Runway? or is it all credit-based?

R Rosa 3 weeks ago
they do have an 'unlimited plan' option, but it's usually for specific tools or during certain promos. generally, it's credit-based for most stuff, especially the advanced generations.
2
L Laura M. 3 weeks ago
it's mostly credits for the really compute-heavy stuff like Gen-2/3. but they occasionally offer unlimited for some features, or higher tiers get a much bigger credit allowance.

can you actually cancel your Runway subscription whenever or are you locked in for a full year if you pick annual?

G Greg K. 1 month ago
you can cancel anytime, but if you're on an annual plan, you won't get a refund for the remaining months. it just won't renew for the next year.
4
C Colin F. 1 month ago
yeah, you can stop it from renewing but you're committed for the period you paid for. so if you paid for a year, you get to use it for that year.

how do the credits work on Runway? like, if I don't use them all by month end, do they just vanish?

B Brett Foster 1 month ago
sadly, yes. any unused credits at the end of your billing cycle are gone. so try to plan your usage.
1
N Nina Osei 1 month ago
that's the catch with the credit system. you gotta use 'em or lose 'em. makes you think about what you're generating, ha.

what are the commercial usage rights like for stuff I make with Runway? Can I use it in client projects without issue?

F Faith C. 3 weeks ago
yeah, their policy states that you retain the rights to the content you generate. so you're good to use it for commercial projects. that's a big plus.
5
K Kevin Kim 3 weeks ago
they're pretty clear on that. anything you create is yours. just make sure you're not uploading copyrighted material to begin with, obviously.

been seeing ads for Sora, is Runway's Gen-3 Alpha actually better for video generation or just different?

W Wendy A. 3 weeks ago
it's hard to say 'better' definitively, they both have strengths. Gen-3 Alpha is really pushing boundaries, especially with control. Sora's super impressive for realism though.

J June 3 weeks ago
i'd say Runway is more about tools and fine-tuning, especially with their other features. Sora looks crazy good for straight-up generation, but might lack some of the editing bells and whistles Runway has.
